COVID-19

The Town of Stewiacke reassures our residents that we are developing a response plan for the COVID-19 pandemic. We are monitoring the situation daily.  At this time, there are no other changes to town operations and services. But our staff are ready in the event changes are required to be made.

I can assure you the health and safety of our town is always my top priority. I ask everyone for their patience and understanding during this very uncertain time. Stewiacke is an awesome community and we look after each other.

There are no reports cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia at this time. Nova Scotia’s health care system is actively monitoring and detecting potential cases of novel coronavirus.

We have decided to cancel all Stewiacke March Break children’s activities next week as a preventative and precautionary measure. We need to ensure everyone that we are all taking the necessary precautions as we normally would be for a flu season.

Residents are encouraged to have enough supplies for 72 hours in the event of an emergency. The best information can be found at www.novascotia.ca/coronavirus.

If you require any advice or information, the Nova Scotia Health Authority has established COVID-19 assessment centres. Please contact 811 for advice. Practicing good hygiene remains the best defense against illness. Please check this site regularly as information will be updated regularly.

Thank you, Mayor Wendy RobinsonTown of Stewiacke
