The Truro & Colchester Partnership is hosting a Mashup Weekend in Truro on May 11-12. The premise is simple… 

People share ideas, build small teams, and then take action over the course of the event to bring their business idea to life. We bring in experienced entrepreneurs over the course of the weekend as ‘coaches’ to provide advice and direction to the teams as they work on their business idea! 

The event is FREE for students and $25.00 for businesses/individuals!  It will be held Friday evening May 11th and Saturday May 12th at the NSCC Campus in Truro.

Registration fee covers weekend food! Don’t have an idea of your own? No problem - jump on a team, meet new people, stretch your creative muscles, and learn what it takes get an idea off the ground in just one weekend. Everybody has something to offer… and to gain!

Spring and Fall Clean-Up is the special collection of general household items that are too bulky for normal collection. These items are accepted during the specified clean-up weeks as identified on your collection schedule.Items are to be placed within 10 feet of the road by 7:00am on the Monday of your collection week.  

Please note: Clean-up items should only be placed at the curb the weekend before your specified special collection week.Each household, including apartment buildings of three units or less, are eligible for Spring and Fall Clean Up collection. The maximum weight of individual items cannot exceed 50lbs or one cubic meter in size, with the exception of furniture and appliances.

Please remember, the maximum amount to be set out should not exceed 650lbs (picture the amount that can fit into the back of a half tonne truck). 

Any bagged garbage must be placed in clear bags for collection.

Residents must separate recyclables into two transparent or clear bags.

Bag #1 is for paper products while Bag #2 is for household containers and clean plastic bags.
