Stewiacke Summer Jobs

Town of Stewiacke Summer Staff Positions

The Town of Stewiacke is receiving applications from individuals who are looking for employment in the recreation field from late June to the end of August. Summer Day Camp Leaders:

Dates of Employment: June 24th, 2019-August 23rd, 2019.  
Hours of Employment: Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm *some evenings and weekends may be required.Between 35-45 hours/week
Rate of pay: $11.15-$12.00/hour
Application deadline: May 3rd, 2019

  Assist with the development of Summer Day Camp program for children 5-12 years.

Develop age activity plans for theme weeks. Determine program supplies and equipment

Implement Summer Day Camp programs: including leading recreation, arts and crafts, healthy living activities and field trips.

Supervise and provide leadership for children participating in afterschool and summer programs to ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.

Assist with set up and cleanup of all activities.

Assist with the planning and implementation of special events included in the summer programs.

Administrative and other duties as required.

Qualifications

Experience in leading children’s programs.

Knowledge of program development

Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others

Excellent written and verbal skills

Good conflict management abilities

Current Standard First Aid and CPR

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Child Abuse Registry Check & Vulnerable Sector check

Summer Sport Leaders:

Dates of Employment: June 24th, 2019-August 23rd, 2019.  
Hours of Employment: Monday to Thursday 5:30pm-8:00pm Between 6-10hours/week 
Rate of pay: $11.15-$12.00/hour
Application deadline: May 3rd, 2019

  Plan and implement soccer and tee ball programs for children and youth ages 3 to 12 years.

Set up and clean up following sport activities.

Compile a weekly report on sport activities to submit to the Recreation Director.

Ensure the environment is safe and welcoming.

Administrative and other duties as required.

 Qualifications

Experience in leading sport programs.

Knowledge of program development

Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others

Excellent written and verbal skills

Good conflict management abilities

Current Standard First Aid and CPR

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Child Abuse Registry Check & Vulnerable Sector check
