A two-part event discussing the costs, harms, and policy options pertaining to substance use in our community. Part one, which will take place on March 27th, will look at the bigger picture- reviewing federal and provincial costs, harms, and policies. Part two, coming in the spring, will look at the more local picture and opportunities to discuss the next steps within our communities to mitigate some of these costs and harms associated with substance use. Stewiacke Town Council intends to consider, and if deemed advisable, adopt an amendment to the Land Use By-law to rezone the property at 23 Riverside Avenue from the General Residential (R-2) Zone to the Highway Commercial (C-2) Zone.
A public hearing on these amendments will begin at 6:45 pm, March 28, 2019, at Stewiacke Council Chambers, 295 George Street, Stewiacke, N.S. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments from the public on the proposed amendment.

Clean and dry paper products, as well as textiles, are to be placed in separate blue or clear bags from clean plastic/container recyclables. Plastics showing the recycling symbol and the numbers 1-7 are acceptable. Styrofoam is now recyclable in the bag with your plastics and containers! Remember: NO needles or caps!
