Dennis Park
Dennis Park is in the heart of the Town of Stewiacke. There are many things to offer in Dennis Park such as our walking track, basketball court, natural playground, a pond for ice skating in the winter months and as of Summer of 2022 the new addition of Stewiacke SplashPad. The walking track is 600 meters that go around the outside of the park and gives a perfect view of the entire park. Dennis Park also includes two gazebos, multiple picnic tables and benches to picnic or relax and enjoy the park.

Stewiacke River Park
This beautiful day-use park is a hidden gem beside the Stewiacke River. Enjoy this natural, forested park with mature pine, hemlock and spruce trees. Watch for wildlife, including bald eagles commonly seen along the river.

Know When You Go
- Some facilities are partially/assisted wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for details.
- Barbeques are available at the main picnic shelters. You must bring your own charcoal briquettes.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash. Please pick up after your pet.
- A change house is located near the main picnic shelter.
- Hunting is not allowed.
- Off-highway vehicles are not allowed on the trails.
Trails
Stewiacke River Country Trail
The Stewiacke River Trail is a 1.8km (2.3KM with extension) trail which connects Mastodon Ridge to the Stewiacke Recreation Grounds. This trail offers stunning views of the Stewiacke River while you are walking through the wilderness, the trail is a looped trail that also surrounds the Stewiacke Recreation Grounds and has a secondary loop that runs back up to Mastodon Ridge. There are great views from either side of the loop where you can take in the rising and lowering of the tides that flow from the Bay of Fundy each day and the wildlife that encompasses this area.
Consideration and polite behaviour are essential in order to ensure the enjoyment of all trail users. Please observe the following guidelines:
- Please stay on the trail
- Leave no trace: if you pock it in, pock it out.
- Cyclists should pass trail users slowly.
- Pets must be on a leash at all times.

John Crawford Trail
The John Crawford Trail is located on the south side of Kitchener Street west of Rockwell Drive. The first section of the John Crawford Trail is a loop that is a total of 350m from the parking lot and back. This part of the trail has crusher dust put down to make for a more user-friendly trail. Throughout the first loop of the trail, there are many benches that have been put there in dedication to many community members who have had some connection with the trail. The second part of the John Crawford Trail has more of a nature trail focus. This section takes you through the backwoods and through a wetland. This section of the trail loops back as well and is a total of 1.6 km. This makes our trail a total of 1.9km.

Stewiacke River Park Trail
This is a 1.9 km loop trail through a beautiful woodland park beside the Stewiacke River. Stroll under hemlock and pine trees along the river on the "river trail". Along this crusher dust path, you will pass the playground, picnic shelters and washrooms.
An upland trail (off the crusher dust trail) with a grass surface passes through the mixed forest in the upper section of the park, away from the river.
Permitted uses: walking, snowshoeing, dogs on leash
Benches and hammocks along the trail provide places for rest and relaxation.
Stewiacke River Park is open 8 am - 8 pm daily from mid-May to mid-October. Please check the website for dates of operation.
Walkers are welcome year-round. (Visitors must leave vehicles at the entrance in the off-season.)

Meadows Two Rivers (Fish Shack) Trail
Located behind Ralphs Fish Shack at 332 Main St. West, this short 0.5km walking trail ends up at the junction where the Shubenacadie River and the Stewiacke River meet. There is a beautiful gazebo at the end of the trail overlooking the confluence with a small area ideal for a quick picnic or birdwatching.
