On behalf of the Stewiacke Town Council, I want to take this opportunity to welcome Marc Seguin as the new Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Stewiacke. Mr. Seguin has an extensive background in Economic and Community Development.
I am looking forward to working with Mr. Seguin in our respective positions.
Mr. Seguin will commence his employment June 17th.

After School Care Registration Update

Please note that if you are unable to complete registration online paper copies are printed at the Stewiacke Town Office.
These are answers to commonly asked questions about this program and it is beneficial that they are reviewed before deciding if this program fits best for your family. Registration does not have a set close date, but when spaces are full then registrations will be categorized into proper waitlists.
• Monday – Friday dismissal (1:55pm) to 5pm pick up.
• No offered-on snow day or unexpected school closures.
• Inservice / PD days as an extra option.
• Bussing from WRC to Community Centre for Program.
• If there is a bussing issue, children will need to find their own transportation to the community centre. This is something outside of the control of the Town of Stewiacke.
• $15 per day – days will be set once the calendar for 2024-2025 school year is released.
• Part-time, full-time options, with preference on full-time.
• Open to grades Pre-Primary and up.
• Billed monthly in advance- should cancellations arise payment will be adjusted.
• One snack will be provided to children.
• Indoor sneakers are required to be left at the Community Centre.
• After School Care only.
• 24 children will be accepted into this program.
• No screens are permitted in this program.
Basic Program schedule:
2:00pm-2:30pm Arrival/Handwashing/Snack
2:30pm-4:00pm Outdoor Play
4:00pm-4:30pm Group Game inside /Craft
4:30pm-5:00pm Free Play / Pick Up

The Town of Stewiacke is pleased to let the families of Winding River Consolidated know that After School Care will be a new service provided during the school year, starting September 2024. The Town of Stewiacke is eager to support the members of the community as we continue to grow.
Questions about the program can be directed to
Registration for programs will start on June 3rd, 2024, at 12:00pm. There will be a registration form and handbook to guide parents/guardians through the program, and signature on each document will be a requirement to secure places in the program. There are 24 spaces available for children enrolled at Winding River Consolidated.
A communication with registration details and dates will be circulated on the town website (stewiacke.net) and Facebook page prior to registration opening.

Stewiacke Community Garden

Announcing the opening of the Stewiacke Community Garden! Applications for a garden bed will be available at the Stewiacke town office, the Town of Stewiacke website, and the Community Garden Facebook page. Applications will be available from May 1st to May 24th. All successful applicants will be notified by May 31st.
The goal of this garden is to provide community members with space to grow fresh affordable vegetables, learn about sustainability and build community spirit.
Through the collaborate efforts of the Town of Stewiacke and the Stewiacke Garden Club; a community garden is well on its way to being ready for this growing season.
